Work plan

The project is 29 months long (January 2008 - May 2010). The work plan of the project is divided into eight work packages:

The work package Management and coordination of the project (MNGT1) (January 2008 - May 2010) will ensure the over-all project coordination and the successful day-to-day progress of the project.

The work package Design and implementation of the repository of problems (PREP 1) (January 2008 - November 2009) will focus on the implementation of a repository of learning objects for Edujudge. This work will be divided into three phases: an analysis phase to define learning objects, an XML domain language and the architecture of the repository; an implementation phase to develop the data repository and the users and application interfaces; and finally a preproduction phase to test the repository and load it with problem sets.

The goal of work package Extension, improvement and optimization of the Online Judge evaluation engine (PREP2) (January 2008 - September 2009) is to improve the Online Judge functionalities to be able to use it on a learning environment successfully giving a useful feedback to the students. The improvements will be oriented to grading the quality of the solutions, developing a generic judge engine that can be easily extended to support more problem formats and an automatic generation of testcases.

The work package Integration of the system into the e-learning platform (PREP3) (January 2008 - May 2010) is dedicated to the implementation of a distributed and asynchronous system for remote evaluation of students submissions. Within this work package the partnership will design: a user interface integrated into Moodle and the QUESTOURNAMENT system, a server prototype and a control subunit to manage the interactions of them.

The goal of the work package Pilot experiences and validation (QPLN1) (September 2009 - May 2010) is to validate the different results of the project (developed through work packages PREP1, PREP2 and PREP3) by using them in real experiences. To do this, several experiences are foreseen in the partners` countries to test the system in real courses and contest training. Besides this, an online survey will be developed so that users evaluate the system technically and pedagogically and, also, a helpdesk will be offered to the users of the e-learning tool during the development of the pilot experiences.

The final objective of the work package Quality and evaluation of the project (QPLN2) is to ensure the quality of the project.

The work package Dissemination of the project results (DISS 1) (January 2008 - May 2010) is dedicated to disseminate and promote the results of the project with the goal of promoting the use of the system developed as an ICT-based learning tool. During the first months all the partners will work in a dissemination plan to define accurately the activities that will be carried out to promote the project and disseminate the results. This work package includes activities like: elaboration of printed promotion materials, participation in conferences and congresses, promotion through international programming contests, development of a website for the project etc.

Finally, the work package Exploitation of the results (EXP 1) (January 2008 - May 2010) is dedicated to the exploitation activities. During the six first months partnership will work on the exploitation plan based on a SWOT analysis. All the partners will participate in this work package carrying out activities such as contact with end users, identification of broader target groups or searching of agreements.
